ConnectingDirectors.com continues to put advertisers up as Articles|Your funeral Guy

ConnectingDirectors.com is drifting farther and farther away from Funeral Industry News. Puting up articles about your advertisers is not news. By  Ignoring stories about the Industry Scandals, the Illinois Funeral Directors Association,Randal L Earl, Batesville Casket Company  and  the NFDA Haiti debacle the site is becoming simply a puppet for adverisers and the traditional funeral industry.

Recent "articles" about advertisers Frazier Consultants, and DNA2Diamonds. Focus on self and practicing the oldest profession with those who give you money is a problem in the Funeral profession and at Connecting Directors.com

Batesville Casket : A lesson in Traditional Funeral Decline-YourFuneral Guy

Batesville Casket  is illustrating to the world the decline of the Traditional Funeral Industry in the USA. The rise of cremation is is bringing in  a major shift of Funerals(including the way Funerals are Sold) in the United States. The problems at Batesville Casket Co reflect a funeral industry in decline.
In the uncertain economy, families are cutting back everywhere they can – including final sendoffs for their loved ones.
That has provided an extra boost to cremation, which is cheaper than traditional burial. But for Indiana’s Batesville casket the largest company of its type in the country, the trend has been bad news. The company estimates that cremation rates for the last few quarters have been 150 basis points to 300 basis points higher than numbers a year ago. The result: lost revenue.
“This has been the biggest impact our industry has seen from a recession in a long time,” said Batesville President Joe Raver.
Batesville saw first-quarter revenue, reported Feb. 4, drop to $161.5 million from $166.5 million in the same quarter a year prior. Raver attributed the decrease largely to low burial volumes as a result of rising cremation rates and a relatively mild flu and pneumonia season

Does online Grieving Really Work?-YourFuneralGuy

Can one really Grieve a loss or the death of a loved one online?Funeral Homes and some obituary Paid and UnPaid  have set up setup grieving resources online. Face Book is one of those places.

As more people share more of their lives online, grief moves with them, experts say. And the nature of sites such as Facebook, Twitter and even online guestbooks allows people suffering from tragedies to find others just like them.

"I think some of this online sharing is good therapy … it can help lead us out of isolation and gives us hope that together we can make it," said Beverley Hurley, chairwoman of the Tampa area chapter of Bereaved Parents, which has its own site.
"So often, after a period of time, people just don't want to talk about it," said Hurley, who is still talking about the loss of her daughter Debbie to cancer 20 years ago. "They think you should be over it. But you never get over losing a child."via www.tampabay.com

Your Funeral Guy Blog:Cremation Is the best low cost Funeral Option

Connecting Directors.com has asked the question in article "Is Cremation The Cheapest Option" Yes it is . The author tries to imply it is not the cheapest option, but it is.

There is no statistics in the article. The thesis is that the funeral consumer will most always purchase  other options. This is not the case.

The other options, memorial service, church service etc can easily be done without a funeral home or funeral director.  many times a celebrant or minister can help you with this.
Apparently there is lack of honesty there  because those options are not mentioned. You can have the other options without paying the funeral director.

The Funeral industry is in decline. Funeral industry folks are going to great lengths to make sure you spend your money at the funeral home.

    Snippet:

In causal conversation with strangers who I have over heard say they want cremated because it is “cheaper”, I have posed the question “Is it really cheaper?” They always say the same thing: “That’s what I was told”. When I start going through the options available with a funeral service, like calling hours and a memorial service, which they want, I soon get them to realize that cremation isn’t necessarily the cheapest option.
So I ask you, is cremation really the cheapest option?
